Skool Member Reactivation Template

Message templates and strategies for re-engaging inactive Skool community members before they churn. These templates work for members at different stages of disengagement.

Member Inactivity Segments

Not all inactive members are the same. Segment them before reaching out:

Segment Definition Priority
Never Activated Joined but never posted or commented High
One-and-Done Made one post/comment, then disappeared High
Fading Was active, gradually slowing down Medium
Ghosted Previously active, suddenly stopped High
Lurker Reads but never engages publicly Low

Reactivation Messages by Segment

Never Activated Members

These members joined but never engaged. They may be confused, overwhelmed, or forgot about the community.

Hey [Name]! I noticed you joined [Community] recently but have not had a chance to jump in yet.

Totally understand — it can feel like a lot when you first join a new group.

Here is the one thing I would recommend starting with: [specific post/module link]

It takes about 5 minutes and a lot of members say it was the turning point for them.

Any questions at all, just let me know — I am here to help!

One-and-Done Members

They showed initial intent but did not come back.

Hey [Name]! Loved your [intro post / comment] from when you first joined.

Wanted to check in — is there anything specific you are looking for help with? I can point you to the right stuff.

Also, we just posted [relevant content/discussion] that I think would be right up your alley: [link]

Fading Members

Gradually decreasing engagement. Catch them before they fully disengage.

Hey [Name], I have noticed you have been a bit quieter lately — no judgment at all, just wanted to check in.

Is there anything the community could be doing better? Or is there something specific you are working through that I can help with?

We are about to kick off [upcoming event/challenge] and I think it would be great for where you are at right now.

Ghosted Members

Was active, suddenly stopped. Something happened.

Hey [Name]! You have been missed in the community. Hope everything is going well on your end.

No pressure at all — just wanted to reach out and see if there is anything I can do. Sometimes life gets in the way and that is completely fine.

If you want to jump back in, [specific low-effort entry point] is a great way to ease back in without pressure.

Reactivation Sequence Timing

Day Action
Day 0 Member flagged as inactive (7+ days no activity)
Day 1 Send personalized DM based on segment
Day 4 If no reply: share a specific resource or upcoming event
Day 8 If still inactive: one final check-in with zero pressure
Day 14 If no response: mark as “at-risk” and move to retention workflow

What NOT to Do

Reactivation Post Templates

Sometimes a public post can reactivate multiple members at once.

The “We Miss You” Post

To everyone who has been lurking quietly...

Hey! We see you 👀

This is your sign to jump back in. Drop a comment below with:
- What you are working on right now
- One thing you need help with

No judgment, no pressure. Just good people helping each other.

The “Easy Win” Post

Quick challenge for today (takes 2 minutes):

Share ONE win from this week. Big or small.

I will go first: [your win]

Tracking Reactivation Success

Metric Target
Reply rate to reactivation DMs 25%+
Members re-engaged within 7 days 30%+
Previously inactive members posting 15%+
Net member reactivation per month Positive trend

Automating Reactivation

Running this manually means tracking every member’s activity in a spreadsheet and remembering to follow up. For communities over 50 members, this becomes unsustainable.

StickyHive monitors member activity automatically and flags members who are going quiet, so you can intervene before they disappear completely.
